In processing article data for filtering using Zotero and scispase applications. The quality assessment tool of this study uses the Mixed Methods Appraisal Tool (MMAT).

Data Sources: Databases including Google Scholar, PubMed, Science Direct, Wiley Library, and Scopus, from 2014 to 2024 searching on September 2024.

Review Methods: Databases were selected for extract data then detailed analysis. The exclusion criteria are those that cannot open full access to the article, and the purpose of the theme is not linear. By synthesizing existing literature. The search yielded 1310 Google Scholar entries, four from Scopus, 233 from Science Direct, 3 from PubMed, and 188 from Wiley Library, 18 valids articles.

Results: Particularly in global, that of rural and urban populations opt for traditional medicine. In developing countries, particularly within rural locales, it is to address numerous health challenges, including infertility. Modifications in diet and lifestyle, rooted in traditional medicine, have been demonstrated to enhance the treatment of infertility significantly. Support from family, friends, and professionals, though necessary, is insufficient to fulfil the needs of individuals facing infertility, who are especially susceptible to complex stresses

Conclusion: The study reveals that the use of traditional medicine such as herbal therapies, cultural rituals, and spiritual approaches is very common, especially in developing countries and rural areas. Factors such as accessibility, affordability, and cultural beliefs are the main reasons people choose this method, however, although many traditional practices show positive results.
Inna Sholicha Fitriani, Yusuf Hamdani Abdi, Nur Hidayati Copyright (c) 2025 Inna Sholicha Fitriani, Yusuf Hamdani Abdi, Nur Hidayati https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://ejournal-kertacendekia.id/index.php/nhjk/article/view/678 Sun, 18 May 2025 06:43:35 +0000 COMPASSION FATIGUE IN HEMODIALYSIS NURSES: A SCOPING REVIEW https://ejournal-kertacendekia.id/index.php/nhjk/article/view/753
Background: The high prevalence of chronic kidney disease has led many patients to undergo hemodialysis therapy, making them dependent on nurses for their care procedures. Hemodialysis nurses are not only responsible for performing dialysis but also for providing education, emotional support, and patient advocacy. This results in a high workload and an increased risk of experiencing compassion fatigue. Such conditions can negatively impact nurses' well-being and the quality of healthcare services due to physical exhaustion, emotional stress, and prolonged burnout.

Objective: To analyze a review on compassion fatigue in hemodialysis nurses.

Design: Scoping Review.

Data Sources: The search was conducted using Google Scholar, PubMed, and EBSCO databases, with articles limited to the time range of 2015–2025. The search term used in Google Scholar was “intitle:compassion fatigue AND intext:hemodialysis nurse”, while in PubMed and EBSCO, the keyword used was “compassion fatigue AND hemodialysis nurse”.

Review Methods: This scoping review follows the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses model, and the collected search results were synthesized for data analysis.

Results: A total of six research articles were analyzed, which were then summarized based on the level of compassion fatigue, related factors, symptoms, and interventions applied to hemodialysis nurses.

Conclusion: Compassion fatigue in hemodialysis nurses is influenced by workload, emotional interactions, and lack of social support. Further research is needed to standardize measurement tools, explore demographic and psychological factors, and develop effective interventions to enhance nurses' well-being and improve patient care quality.
Suci Wulandari Sassanti, Titin Andri Wihastuti, Dina Dewi Sartika Lestari Ismail Copyright (c) 2025 Suci Wulandari Sassanti, Titin Andri Wihastuti, Dina Dewi Sartika Lestari Ismail https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://ejournal-kertacendekia.id/index.php/nhjk/article/view/753 Sun, 18 May 2025 08:43:32 +0000 UNDERSTANDING YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH: A NARRATIVE REVIEW https://ejournal-kertacendekia.id/index.php/nhjk/article/view/767
Youth mental health has increasingly become a global health concern. Depression in Indonesia has the highest rate of this age group compared to all age groups. Age 15-24 years is a key phase of identity formation, emotional growth, and social transition; therefore, mental health difficulties during this time can have lifetime effects. This review draws on recent literature to explore global patterns in youth mental health, to gain understanding into youth's perceptions, and a variety of social and digital influences as key barriers to early recognition and effective coping. The paper underscores the importance of promotive and preventive strategies, including mental health education, coping skills training, and early intervention programs. Emphasis is placed on culturally responsive and developmentally appropriate approaches that meet youth where they are—emotionally, socially, and digitally. Recommendations are offered for nursing and community practice, with a focus on building youth resilience and improving access to timely, stigma-free support systems.
Faida Annisa Copyright (c) 2025 Faida Annisa https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://ejournal-kertacendekia.id/index.php/nhjk/article/view/767 Mon, 09 Jun 2025 02:44:45 +0000 HEALTH COACHING AS A DIABETES MANAGEMENT INTERVENTION: A SCOPING REVIEW https://ejournal-kertacendekia.id/index.php/nhjk/article/view/704
Background: Health coaching is considered an effective multidisciplinary intervention for managing chronic diseases, such as diabetes mellitus. There is extensive research on the health coaching topic in diabetes management. However, its implementation varies given the lack of standardized regulation as a guiding principle.

Objective: This study aims to explore health coaching concepts in diabetes management.

Design: This was a scoping review.

Data Sources: We searched relevant studies published from 2018 to 2022 using three journal databases, including PubMed, CINAHL, and Google Scholar.

Review Methods: The selection is determined using PRISMA Flow Diagram Scoping Review with inclusion criteria and analyzed on the basis of data extraction and the TIDieR checklist.

Results: Nine articles were included in this study. Most of the articles revealed that health coaching was delivered by healthcare professionals to help patients living with diabetes cope with their problems. Long-term (>6 months) application of health coaching effectively reduces the HbA1c level which indicates a positive effect on self-management. Face-to-face interactions, telephone conversations, virtual meetings, and home visits are the most common strategies applied in health coaching sessions.

Conclusion: Tailored health coaching is proven as an alternative intervention to support patients with diabetes in achieving their desired goals. Thus, effective health coaching must be implemented based on individual preference.
Niken Safitri Dyan Kusumaningrum, Monica Adelia Puspitasari Copyright (c) 2025 Niken Safitri Dyan Kusumaningrum, Monica Adelia Puspitasari https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://ejournal-kertacendekia.id/index.php/nhjk/article/view/704 Thu, 19 Jun 2025 07:32:54 +0000 ANALYSIS OF FACTORS INFLUENCING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF NURSING SUPERVISION BY THE HEAD OF THE ROOM: A SCOPING REVIEW https://ejournal-kertacendekia.id/index.php/nhjk/article/view/730
Background: Supervision in several hospitals until now is still not optimal by the head of the room so that the direction function in nursing management does not run optimally which affects the quality of nursing care. Drug-resistant tuberculosis (DR-TB) is caused by spontaneous mutations in the chromosomes that cause resistance to first-line DR-TBugs.

Objectives: to determine the patient characteristics and nursing problems of patients with DR-TB.

Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study of inpatients with DR-TB in the DR-TB isolation ward at Sulianti Saroso Infectious Disease Hospital from July to December 2021. The variables investigated in this study include patient characteristics, comorbid diseases, tuberculosis treatment history, nutritional status, psychological status, nursing problem, and subcategories of nursing problems.

Results: Most patients were 56-65 years old, male, high school graduates, unemployed, and married. Most of the populations had diabetes mellitus as a comorbid disease, a history of having received previous treatment, and long-term treatment regimens. Most patients had normal nutritional status and a calm and adaptive psychological history. Nursing problems were airway clearance, dietary deficits, and electrolyte imbalance. The sub-categories of nursing problems that appear most were nutrition and fluid intake, respiration, and ego integrity. This occurs due to physiological disturbances caused by the disease process and the side effects of DR-TBugs.

Conclusion: The process of Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection accelerates the body’s metabolism as it combats the bacteria. This resulted in decreased appetite and reduced nutritional status. Consequently, nurses should focus on intensified care for DR-TB patients. This involves ensuring adequate nutrition and fluid intake, offering spiritual support to boost confidence, and educating patients on maintaining airway hygiene.
Veronika Hutabarat, Farida Murtiani, Nuraidah, Yuni Shahroh, Sumaryati, Ramlah, Hasinah, Kunti Wijiarti, Aninda Dinar Widiantari, Siti Maemun Copyright (c) 2025 Veronika Hutabarat, Farida Murtiani, Nuraidah, Yuni Shahroh, Sumaryati, Ramlah, Hasinah, Kunti Wijiarti, Aninda Dinar Widiantari, Siti Maemun https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://ejournal-kertacendekia.id/index.php/nhjk/article/view/647 Sun, 18 May 2025 06:35:53 +0000 EFFECT OF IMPLEMENTING THE ANDROID-BASED APPLICATION “CAKOASI.ID” (COMPLEMENTARY THERAPY DISC) ON MOTHER'S SELF-EFFICACY IN OVERCOMING BREASTFEEDING PROBLEMS https://ejournal-kertacendekia.id/index.php/nhjk/article/view/692
Background: Breastfeeding coverage in Indonesia is still low, including Padang City, especially in the Andalas Health Center working area, which is 51.1%, has not reached the national target of 90%.
