This community service activity was carried out at the As Syafiiyah Islamic boarding school to provide solutions to the problems of the As Syafiiyah Islamic boarding school community by providing education, training as well and mentoring Islamic boarding school health cadres in preventing scabies. This activity is carried out by providing education, training, and assistance to students and poskestren cadres about "self-care" in preventing scabies. Evaluation of this activity was carried out using pre and post-test scores. It was found that there was an increase in the post-test score compared to the pre-test. Before the self-care training was given, it was found that 20% of the students were still not clean in maintaining their hygiene, but after the self-care training was given, it was found that none (0%) of the students were clean and 58.5% of their hygiene was good. It is concluded that self-care training can improve the ability of students to prevent scabies through personal hygiene skills which include: clothing hygiene, skin hygiene, hand and nail hygiene, genital hygiene, towel hygiene, and cleanliness of prayer tools. The behavior of preventing scabies through maintaining personal hygiene needs to be stated in the Pesantren regulations and socialized to the Pesantren community and requires support from the Kyai or Pesantren leaders, including Bu Nyai Pesantren so that it can be implemented properly.</p> Khamida, Meidyta Sinantryana Widyaswari Copyright (c) 2024 Khamida Khamida, Meidyta Sinantryana Widyaswari https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://ejournal-kertacendekia.id/index.php/csji/article/view/592 Thu, 21 Nov 2024 14:27:10 +0800 UTILIZATION OF MORINGA LEAVES AS A LOCAL FOOD INNOVATION TO REDUCE STUNTING IN BULURI SUBDISTRICT, PALU CITY https://ejournal-kertacendekia.id/index.php/csji/article/view/689 <p>Stunting is a serious issue affecting child growth and development due to chronic malnutrition and recurrent infections. In Palu City, the prevalence of stunting among children under five reached 22.1% in 2023, with a target to reduce it to 14% by 2024. Achieving this target requires a comprehensive approach, including public education on the importance of stunting prevention and balanced nutrition. In addition to education, training in healthy food processing based on local food potential is also conducted, aimed at utilizing local resources rich in nutritional value. This program is implemented through step-by-step cooking demonstrations with direct community involvement. One of the food innovations introduced is the processing of moringa leaves into moringa chicken tofu balls, which are nutrient-dense to support child growth. The program has shown improvements in community knowledge and skills in processing local foods and understanding nutritional intake. However, the program has not fully achieved its target due to low awareness among mothers about balanced nutrition. Therefore, additional strategies are needed, such as continuous nutrition campaigns, strengthening community participation, and cross-sector collaboration to achieve optimal results.</p> Muhammad Sabri Syahrir, Rendhar Putri Hilintang, Ummu Kamilah, Riza Irianingtyas Copyright (c) 2024 Muhammad Sabri Syahrir, Rendhar Putri Hilintang, Ummu Kamilah, Riza Irianingtyas https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://ejournal-kertacendekia.id/index.php/csji/article/view/689 Thu, 21 Nov 2024 14:38:06 +0800 STRENGTHENING HEALTH LITERACY AS THE MAIN PILLAR OF REALISING HEALTHY SCHOOLS AT NAHDLATUL ULAMA JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL IN BANJARMASIN CITY https://ejournal-kertacendekia.id/index.php/csji/article/view/697 <p>Strengthening health literacy in realising healthy schools is one of the focuses of community service activities to be achieved in this activity.
