Gout arthritis is influenced by several factors, including age, genetics, lifestyle, and purine metabolism disorders.</em></p> <p><strong><em>Objectives:</em></strong><em> This study aimed to determine the application of gerontic nursing care in patients with gout arthritis with acute pain nursing problems through the fostered family approach.</em></p> <p><strong><em>Methods:</em></strong><em> This study used a descriptive research method with a mixed-method approach (qualitative and quantitative research). This research was conducted on 12-16 May 2022 in Panditan Village, Lumbang District, Pasuruan Regency and 6-12 June 2022 in Mandaranrejo Village, Panggungrejo District, Pasuruan City. This research was carried out by applying the fostered family according to the case. The sampling technique used is Convenience Sampling by setting inclusion criteria. The sample in this study were 4 respondents. For the results of the study, it was carried out by analyzing the data on family nursing care that had been carried out.</em></p> <p><strong><em>Results:</em></strong><em> Based on the results of the research data, it was found that respondents complained of pain in their joints with varying pain scales and locations. The priority nursing diagnosis in this study is acute pain associated with physiological injury agents characterized by complaints of pain felt by four research respondents. The preparation of the nursing action plan is based on the Indonesian Nursing Outcome Standard [SLKI] (2018) and the Indonesian Nursing Intervention Standard [SIKI] (2019) which are adjusted to the circumstances of each respondent. The implementation of nursing carried out is also based on the nursing action plan that has been prepared. The cause of diabetes mellitus is impaired insulin secretion or impaired insulin effect or it could be due to both.</em></p> <p><strong><em>Objectives:</em></strong><em> This study aims to determine the application of gerontic nursing care for the elderly who suffer from Diabetes Mellitus with the approach of family members in Sekardangan Village, Sidoarjo.</em></p> <p><strong><em>Methods:</em></strong><em> This research is a research that uses a descriptive research method with a mixed-method approach (qualitative and quantitative research). This research was conducted on 17-27 July 2022 in Sekardangan Village, Sidoarjo District, Sidoarjo Regency. This research was carried out by applying the care family according to the case. The sampling technique used is Convenience Sampling by setting inclusion criteria. For the results of the study, it was carried out by analyzing the data on gerontic nursing care that had been carried out and comparing the results of the two samples found in the field with the theory from the literature study.</em></p> <p><strong><em>Results:</em></strong><em> Based on the results of the study, it was found that the level of understanding of the two respondents was still not good. This is evidenced when asked both respondents looked confused, when asked about what they know about Diabetes Mellitus both respondents answered diabetes is a disease of high blood sugar, patients do not know about the causes, complications, signs and symptoms as well as treatments that can be done on Diabetes Mellitus. With these data, the authors determined that the diagnosis of knowledge deficit related to lack of exposure to information became the main focus because the diagnosis was very suitable for the complaints and symptoms shown by the two respondents. This disease is often characterized by pain, especially in the joints</em></p> <p><strong><em>Objectives</em></strong><em>: This study aims to identify nursing care for elderly clients with gout arthritis in Sekar Putih Village, Pasuruan.</em></p> <p><strong><em>Methods</em></strong><em>: This study uses a descriptive research method with a mix method approach because it combines qualitative and quantitative research. This study uses a convenience sampling technique. This research was conducted on 27 – 31 December 2021 in Sekarputih Village, Pasuruan Regency. The instrument used in this research is the gerontic nursing assessment format used in the Kerta Cendekia Health Polytechnic environment.</em></p> <p><strong><em>Results</em></strong><em>: The results showed that both clients complained of pain in the joints so that the priority nursing diagnosis that emerged was chronic pain related to chronic musculoskeletal conditions as evidenced by complaining of pain, grimacing, appearing protective, unable to complete activities. Nursing diagnoses on both clients can be resolved according to the outcome criteria and the time set by the researcher.</em></p> <p><strong><em>Conclusion</em></strong><em>: The application of nursing care to clients with a nursing diagnosis of chronic pain related to chronic musculoskeletal conditions can be resolved as evidenced by complaints of decreased pain, decreased anxiety, and improved blood pressure.</em></p> Rhoudotul Khasanah Meli Diana Faida Annisa Kusuma Wijaya Ridi Putra Copyright (c) 2022 Rhoudotul Khasanah, Meli Diana, Faida Annisa, Kusuma Wijaya Ridi Putra https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 2022-10-31 2022-10-31 1 2 67 73 10.36720/ijohve.v1i2.450 Case Study of the Application of Gerontic Nursing Care in Patients with Hypercholesterolemia Using a Family Approach in Keboan Sikep Village, Gedangan, Sidoarjo Regency https://ejournal-kertacendekia.id/index.php/IJoHVE/article/view/451 <p><strong><em>Background:</em></strong><em> The phenomenon that often occurs in people who suffer from hypercholesterolemia is disobedience and ignorance of the food they eat, even though they already know they have cholesterol but still consume foods that contain high levels of fat such as meat and foods that contain coconut milk.</em></p> <p><strong><em>Objectives:</em></strong><em> This study aimed to determine the application of gerontic nursing care to families and family members who suffer from hypercholesterolemia in Keboan Sikep Village.</em></p> <p><strong><em>Methods:</em></strong><em> This research is a research that uses descriptive research methods with a mixed-method approach (qualitative and quantitative research). This research was carried out on May 19 – June 20 2022 in Keboan Sikep Village, Gedangan District, Sidoarjo Regency. This research was carried out by implementing gerontic care according to the case. The sampling technique used is convenience sampling by setting inclusion criteria. The research results were carried out by analyzing the gerontic nursing care data that had been carried out.</em></p> <p><strong><em>Results:</em></strong><em> Based on the results of the study, it was found that both respondents complained of pain. This can be seen in the two complaints the client says is pain in the joints, pain feels stabbed, pain in both legs and both hands, scale: 6, intermittent, pain increases when made to move, the client looks grinning. With these data, the emerging nursing diagnosis is acute pain associated with physiological agents of injury. Nursing implementation carried out by researchers in the form of building trusting relationships, observing TTV, identifying locations, characteristics and frequency of pain, identifying pain scales, identifying non-verbal pain responses, teaching non-pharmacological techniques (distraction and relaxation techniques, warm compresses) to reducing pain to clients 1, teaching non-pharmacological techniques (distraction and relaxation techniques, holding a ball) to reduce pain to clients 2, explaining the causes and trigger periods of pain.</em></p> <p><strong><em>Conclusion:</em></strong><em> The application of nursing care carried out for hypercholesterolemia sufferers who experience nursing diagnoses of acute pain related to physiological agents of injury which is carried out by accompanying the family and motivating the family can be resolved properly, which is characterized by complaints of decreased pain, decreased grin, improved pulse frequency.</em></p> Dewi Sakdiyah Tarlik Kusuma Wijaya Ridi Putra Riesmiyatiningdyah Riesmiyatiningdyah Copyright (c) 2022 Dewi Sakdiyah Tarlik, Kusuma Wijaya Ridi Putra, Riesmiyatiningdyah Riesmiyatiningdyah https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 2022-11-30 2022-11-30 1 2 74 83 10.36720/ijohve.v1i2.451 Case Study of the Application of Gerontic Nursing Care in Patients with Pulmonary Tuberculosis with a Foster Family Approach in Putat Village, Tanggulangin Sidoarjo https://ejournal-kertacendekia.id/index.php/IJoHVE/article/view/452 <p><strong><em>Background:</em></strong><em> Pulmonary tuberculosis is still a major health problem and a serious threat to people all over the world. The control of this disease is influenced by an increase in diseases that can reduce the body's resistance, such as DM and HIV.</em></p> <p><strong><em>Objectives:</em></strong><em> This study aimed to determine the application of gerontic nursing care to families and family members suffering from pulmonary tuberculosis in Putat Village.</em></p> <p><strong><em>Methods:</em></strong><em> This research is a research that used descriptive research methods with a mixed-method approach (qualitative and quantitative research). This research was carried out on May 12 – June 5 2022 in Putat Village, Tanggulangin District, Sidoarjo Regency. This research was carried out by implementing gerontic care according to the case. The sampling technique used is convenience sampling by setting inclusion criteria. The research results were carried out by analyzing the gerontic nursing care data that had been carried out</em></p> <p><strong><em>Results:</em></strong><em> Based on the results of the study, it was found that both respondents had respiratory complaints. This can be seen in Mr. K's data, which says he has cough and chest pain on the right, the tightness increases when lying down and slightly decreases when sitting. Meanwhile, Mr. A said he had shortness of breath, chest pain and cough, but the phlegm was difficult to expel. With these data, the emerging nursing diagnosis is airway clearance associated with airway hypersecretion and retained secretions.
